Yes i pronounce gif as in gift without the t. i’m sick of hearing jif.

Jif sounds stupid. Also, gif is an acronym for Graphic Interchange Format.

The “G” in graphic is pronounced like the g in gift. Not like the g in giraffe.

Now, if it stood for Giraffe Interchange Format I’d pronounce it like jif.
